Coffee Table To A Toile Bench

This table was left behind in an Old Farm House, and I just had to have it, it's from the year I was born 1975! Great detail on it, but to small for a coffee table and too big for a side table....Hmmm...

1928 Church Windows Recreated

Everyone is in love with these 1928 Arched Church Windows that we scooped up in Compeer Alberta Canada! SO many ideas on how to decorate with them, here are a couple ideas to date...

I cut a poster to fit in the frame, it's like you are looking through your window, out onto your front street back in 1945.

Or just simply decorated on a shelf!

`El Creepy

OK...So I just picked up 4 mirrors from various thrift shops. I'm prepping them to do the "Acid Mirror" treatment to them hopefully in the next week or so.

When I open the one mirror up I see that it's stamped on the back saying H EP. CO. LTD. JULY. 17 1929. I think " WOW, cool, imagine what this mirror has seen!" then carry on with my busy-ness!

That night I cannot sleep!! I was awoken at approx 3AM and then awake until at least 4:20AM. I have this weird, cold, old man hands on me, creepy, ghost like presence feeling and it disturbs me! The next night same thing but just like I'm being watched and not touched!
NOT until last night do I figure out that I opened the Mirror on July 17 2011, EXACTLY to the date of the mirror from July 17 1929, 82years prior!!!!!!!!!!!! And the two nights I didn't sleep were July 17 & 18 2011!! CREEPY!!!!!!!!
Throughout my life I`ve realized that I have had a few unusual encounters but I didn`t have my blog to blurt it out on!
I'm now going to call the "Acid Mirror Treatment" The Acid Trip, Mirror Treatment, because it`s starting off weird and trippy! Keep yourselves posted for the outcome....

This past week I went to Lethbridge AB for some visiting. On The way there we got to enjoy the colors of nature! LOVE the sunny yellow Canola Field and then the gorgeous blues in the sky!

Thrifty Glam

I was inspired to add some color to some projects today......

I was SO excited to grab this table.....Remember sitting by this kind of table just to chat on the phone?? NEVER!!!
I did remember to take the "before" picture before I really got started!!!

WOWZA.....I did this one in a Heirloom White , then I gave it a Patina Blue Wash, then Shabby loved it just a little! LOOOOOVE it!
Imagine sitting beside this table having your tea and reading this Summer's Thriller?

Vintage Windows

I am a huge admirer of Old, Beat up, Run down windows!  There is something about the intact 100year old wood, the rustic paint and just the lifetime of the windows. They bring instant character to any wall or space. I just love it!

Here are a few things I've done with windows from my home...

These were my very first barn windows. I actually removed from the barn myself, not that hard actually, a crowbar works best! I Shabby loved them with some white dry brushed paint, then applied a branch with birds, vinyl behind it. The Art Tiles are straight from Finland, each one is hand painted. What a unique way to display them!
These windows are set up on the hallway at the top of my staircase.

I found this one at a garage sale....imagine? It was meant for me! It is definitely one of my favorite ones, I love to change up the decor on it seasonally. This one is in my Living Room.

Smith Makeover

We finished another AMAZING Master Bedroom Calming Retreat Makeover!

Right away we knew we had to rearrange the furniture and get rid of some of the bigger bedroom pieces to make the room appear bigger. Furniture should not be on every wall in the room.

We moved this tall dresser to the end of her hallway to use for storage. We wanted an open calm feeling for the room.

She had bought a new Bed-In-A-Bag set and we based her room accessories around that.

Canada Day Weekend

YEAH! We got to run away to nature for this long weekend. How inspiring is the forest?? Gorgeous views of the mountains, the fresh air smell, beautiful trees, pine needles, moss, wild flowers, sunshine, late night fires, and Margaritas right off of the Margaritaville machine!! What a great relaxing weekend. I took tons of pictures of the beautiful scenery. On one of the days we took a two hour quad ride up to a lake in the middle of the mountains, simply stunning!
