I just adore Creating kids furniture....WAY back when I had my daughter I bought an Ikea kids table set and repainted it all colorful and funky.
I got tons of compliments on it.....and that's when I had barely tapped into my artsy side....who knew?
When I saw this set on my local swap/buy website I had to have it!
Again, I knew exactly the graphic I wanted to use on it.
I went straight to my fairy godmother at Graphics Fairy and chose this one....It's an Antique Printers Ornament from an old 1880's book! Seriously Stunning!
Here's what I did...
I painted the table and chair tops van Gogh Patina Blue....I cannot get enough of this color, seriously the pictures don't do it justice! Then I gave the tops a very light van Gogh Fossil Paint Buttah Yellow wash, then projected and painted the ornament in a Paris Grey! I then painted the rest of the table and chairs van Gogh Chalk Paint Cashmere, and of course used the Beeswax to seal it all in!
I painted the chairs tops with a "Me" and a "You", in a Vintage Font. I mean really who else is there?!
The complete set
Just as I pictured it.....but with two little princesses sipping pretend tea, sitting on their Glamorous Tea Table with their Antique Tea Cups!
What a fun project this one was!
I hope it inspired you to renew some furniture in your home!
