East Coast Postcard Dresser

Hello Hello Lovelies!

AHHH Good old pine dressers ....they really make for a perfect canvas!

I scooped this not so beauty up...

I knew exactly the look I was going for...
I chalk painted this beauty in FAT Paint's Gull Grey, the softest grey ever!
I did a light layer of warm white on the front middle to outline my perfect canvas area.

I have a stack of old postcards from all my antique store trips, and one of them was addressed to Miss DC Fader, I added an address to it. I LOVE that is from sisters and talking about the old being new again!!  I free hand drew out my post card on the front and then filled it in. ALL free hand.
The post card says
 Miss DC Fader
16  Spring Garden
Halifax NS
" I'm in Montreal where everything old is new again. You would love it here"
Your Sister NLC
How COOL is that?!

The glass knobs were the perfect touch!

What I LOVE LOVE LOVE about  my pieces is the client feedback on how everyone notices their pieces on their homes. TOTAL conversation starters and uber personal style for each home!

Here is your before and after together!

THANKS for tuning in!

FAT Paint pairs up with Amanda Forrest ~NEW Colors~

Hello Hello Lovelies!

Just when you needed some new inspiration the FAT Paint Company comes to the rescue!
The FAT Paint Co. has teamed up with Amanda Forrest the gorgeous and talented designer from The Marilyn Denis Show.
They have 6 new colors available starting today, Navy State Of Mind, Blushing Bombshell, Can't See Me Camo, Greysful, Couture Linen, and Orangeapalooza.

Here are some pieces I created with the new colors...

Navy State Of Mind
I am in love with this Navy.

The tone of this blue is so dreamy and it pairs EXCELLENT with Gold!

Blushing Bombshell
This color seriously grabbed my heartstrings and will not let go!
It's hard to tell the exact tone in pictures but to me this pink is the perfect modern antique pink. It can be used on a piece of furniture with a distressed look and dark waxed or brown glazed for a perfect time worn feel OR painted and top coated for a fresh modern look OR painted and paired with gold for a glam look! I LOVE it!

Orangeapalooza has the sweetest tone, here it is on the antler.
Can't See Me Camo is on the book and looks awesome with the gold Alberta Dames small Chandelier Stencil in Gold on the cover.
Greysful is on the little box and will look wicked on any piece.
Couture Linen is on the stool top and is a perfect neutral.

Are you inspired to get painting?

Fusion Mineral Paint...prepare to be mind blown...

Hello Hello Lovelies!

I've totally neglected my blog this past 6months and it sucks! I can tell you it's not from me just lounging around and reading books....although that sounds dreamy!
I have been so uber busy and so many new thing have come along for me!
FINALLY I can blog about it!
Have you heard about Fusion Mineral Paint?
I feel like I'm slow to jump on board with this amazing line but never to late...right?
Fusion Mineral Paint is Canadian made from Homestead House Paint Co. right in Toronto Canada. You know I LOVE to support my Canadian made products!
Fusion™ is a 100% acrylic, water-based paint. The “mineral” in Fusion Mineral Paint™ refers to the pigments used which are harvested from the earth. Using natural rather than synthetic pigments allows for greater depth in colour and better durability to UV light and time. Once cured, a surface painted with Fusion™ is both water and stain proof. No primer or top coat required, making it more of a one-step kind of paint.
Did you see that line...."ONE STEP kind of paint???" Sign me up!!
Fusion also carries the The Alberta Dames Stencil Line Which I co-designed. YAHOOO!

**For this next part of the blog, PLEASE buckle up or go wrap your head in tin foil because I'm about to blow your mind!!**
What you are about to witness is a $4 dollar furniture makeover.....f.o.u.r.d.o.l.l.a.r!!

I got this little half moon table and mirror set given to me from a friend.

It had already been a sloppy, choppy, some spots missing paint and some spots chipping kinda way!
*major tip here* A little prep goes a long way!
I sanded it down. NO, not in the way you kill your arm and strip it right down. I sanded it in the easy get the old spots off so it's smooth to touch and no left over chippy paint kinda way AND roughing it up enough for that fantastic Fusion to adhere to it! Maybe 10 minutes of work!

I took this little sample pot of Fusion Mineral Paint in Homestead Blue off my shelf.
This is 37ml, that is 1 ounce and 7ml. Retails for $4.00

I painted the entire mirror in and around all the roses...

AND the entire table...

I re-PAINTED this ENTIRE set with 1 ounce and 7ml!!!!! OH MA GAWD! I blew my own mind today!!
Did this just happen? YES it did!
I could have left it done here, at a $4.00 makeover BUT...

I wanted some added bling to the piece so I then took the Fusion tint-able glaze and mixed up some Coal Black glaze and went over the tops of the roses and over a stencil on the top of the table. I love how glaze is very transparent and subtle but punchy in the spots it needs to be. I used maybe a 1/2 teaspoon of glaze.

What do you think??
THANK YOU for tuning in!
