Hello Hello Lovelies!
I've totally neglected my blog this past 6months and it sucks! I can tell you it's not from me just lounging around and reading books....although that sounds dreamy!
I have been so uber busy and so many new thing have come along for me!
FINALLY I can blog about it!
Have you heard about Fusion Mineral Paint?
I feel like I'm slow to jump on board with this amazing line but never to late...right?
Fusion Mineral Paint is Canadian made from Homestead House Paint Co. right in Toronto Canada. You know I LOVE to support my Canadian made products!
Fusion™ is a 100% acrylic, water-based paint. The “mineral” in Fusion Mineral Paint™ refers to the pigments used which are harvested from the earth. Using natural rather than synthetic pigments allows for greater depth in colour and better durability to UV light and time. Once cured, a surface painted with Fusion™ is both water and stain proof. No primer or top coat required, making it more of a one-step kind of paint.
Did you see that line...."ONE STEP kind of paint???" Sign me up!!
Fusion also carries the The Alberta Dames Stencil Line Which I co-designed. YAHOOO!
**For this next part of the blog, PLEASE buckle up or go wrap your head in tin foil because I'm about to blow your mind!!**
What you are about to witness is a $4 dollar furniture makeover.....f.o.u.r.d.o.l.l.a.r!!
I got this little half moon table and mirror set given to me from a friend.
It had already been painted....in a sloppy, choppy, some spots missing paint and some spots chipping kinda way!
*major tip here* A little prep goes a long way!
I sanded it down. NO, not in the way you kill your arm and strip it right down. I sanded it in the easy get the old spots off so it's smooth to touch and no left over chippy paint kinda way AND roughing it up enough for that fantastic Fusion to adhere to it! Maybe 10 minutes of work!
I took this little sample pot of Fusion Mineral Paint in Homestead Blue off my shelf.
This is 37ml, that is 1 ounce and 7ml. Retails for $4.00
I re-PAINTED this ENTIRE set with 1 ounce and 7ml!!!!! OH MA GAWD! I blew my own mind today!!
Did this just happen? YES it did!
I could have left it done here, at a $4.00 makeover BUT...
I wanted some added bling to the piece so I then took the Fusion tint-able glaze and mixed up some Coal Black glaze and went over the tops of the roses and over a stencil on the top of the table. I love how glaze is very transparent and subtle but punchy in the spots it needs to be. I used maybe a 1/2 teaspoon of glaze.
What do you think??
THANK YOU for tuning in!
